Learning slowly but just the same - learning. I was in my first car accident today in China. Wow - thought you knew what chinese sounded like when they were mad - you've seen nothing yet! Then the cab tried to rip me off! I learned how to say f*ck no. F*ck budong. Beijing was a blast - I seriously would absolutely love to live there - maybe just a couple of years. I could never raise a child here but I'm not looking forward enough for that.
I'm thinking about getting a tattoo - not sure of what but if I get a chinese character at least I can tell it doesnt say cat piss!
Anyway - I weigh 118 - gross.

In China

Ok - so I'm in China! The first couple days were amazing - learning so much and experiencing crazy things. The last 2 days I have felt awful- havent left my bed or my room. The real issue is that the toilet is a hole in the ground and TP is impossible to find. Therefore I take my own but you cant put the TP down the toilet. My thighs are in incredible shape - oh and I lost 14 lbs in 6 days! The food does taste great but it's brutal. Classes are hard but I'm learning much more here than I would in the US. No one here speaks english so I travel with a dictionary. The locals are not pleasant and they stare awkwardly and constantly. White girls are rare to come by in Chna. There are plenty of white guys - but not many girls. KFC just opened and Chinese people are eating up the fried chicken. I ordered yesterday for the group in chinese - what an event but the jerk behind the counter read back my order in english! Anyway I have to use the hole in the ground so I'll write some time later.

What I'm psyched about is that today a lady named Olga called to inform me that OWIT is going to pay for my trip to China!! How awesome is that!

almost time to go

A couple weeks until I leave for China - not quite prepared. However, I cant think of 1 thing to do between now and then. I'm not working - no school - and no where to live. Should be entertaining at the very least.
Some day soon I will figure out how to share pics so that next time you read this site you will be able to see where the last couple weeks have sent me and where the next couple months will lead me.
Having a great summer so far - traveling with Geo and having a blast! I've been visiting and vaccinating in Philly, burning up and a little hazy in the Bahamas, freezing in Newport and Boston, and sun bathing with Geo's fam in Myrtle. All to come home to the Marriott in sunny hurricane ridden Tampa.
I'll post again right before I leave unless I can figure out the pic thing - then Ill post earlier.

Update on China

Hey Mom and Dad! I am starting this website so you guys can be updated on China. Hopefully I'll be able to update it once Im in China as well.
So far I have paid in full for the trip. I have not sent my check to the golden tour travel agency for the airfare but I did write it out - first step is very important.
I have to get immunized - not excited.
I have to get my visa - got my mugshot this morning - what a gorgeous face!
